Looking for a way to spice up your salsa?
The chipotle chile pepper is a dried, smoked jalapeño with medium heat intensity. It is a key ingredient in traditional Mexican cuisine and adds a smoky, rich fruity flavor to dishes such as salsas, chili, beans and rice, and barbeque sauce. Just be careful when adding the pepper as they can be extremely hot. Also the oils from the inside of the peppers and seeds can stay on your hands for many hours….so where gloves when preparing or just be extra careful not to touch your face (especially eyes).

Bees are more important than you think, as they are the primary pollinator of our human food source and they are starting to die off at an alarming rate. With no bees, there will be a lot less food. Watch the PBS series of “Silence of the Bees” videos to learn about what is happening to the bees and also read the article below to learn about how you can help to create a healthy habitat in your yard for all kinds of bees.
In the winter of 2006, a strange phenomenon fell upon honeybee hives across the country. Without a trace, millions of bees vanished from their hives. A precious pollinator of fruits and vegetables, the disappearing bees left billions of dollars of crops at risk and threatened our food supply. The epidemic set researchers scrambling to discover why honeybees were dying in record numbers — and to stop the epidemic in its tracks before it spread further.
Silence of the Bees is the first in-depth look at the search to uncover what is killing the honeybee. The filmmakers of Bees take viewers around the world to the sites of fallen hives, to high-tech labs, where scientists race to uncover clues, and even deep inside honeybee colonies. Silence of the Bees is the story of a riveting, ongoing investigation to save honeybees from dying out. The film goes beyond the unsolved mystery to tell the story of the honeybee itself, its invaluable impact on our diets and takes a look at whats at stake if honeybees disappear. Silence of the Bees explores the complex world of the honeybee in crisis and instills in viewers a sense of urgency to learn ways to help these extraordinary animals.
Save the bees from extinction! You CAN do it.
by gaiatechnician Honey bees are disappearing fast and almost everyone knows it. Most people do not realize that all the other types are disappearing too. And colony collapse disorder is hard to blame when most bees are solitary!
Thats right, most types of bees live alone.
One big reason that they are disappearing is habitat loss.
This instructable suggests ways to provide solitary bees with brood space and overnight shelter in an attempt to replace some of that lost habitat.
